A wide variety of scholarships and financial aid options exist across the University, the College of Engineering and the various engineering departments. These opportunities span a range of criteria, from exemplary academic performance to need. We encourage you to complete applications for all opportunities for which you may be eligible. Here, we have provided a brief overview.
University-Level Distinctive Scholarships for Rising Freshmen
Our engineering students are impressive. We have engineering student representation in all University-level Rising Freshman Distinctive Scholarships.

We encourage freshman applicants to explore these opportunities before the November 1 Early Action deadline.
University-Level Distinctive Scholarships for Incoming Transfer Students
The Goodnight Scholars Program for transfer students is funded by a gift from Dr. Jim and Ann Goodnight. It is designed to develop scholars into leaders within the STEM and/or education fields. As a result, a number of Goodnight transfer scholars are engineering students.
Goodnight Scholars Program – The Goodnight Scholars Program for transfer students is a unique scholarship for outstanding NC community college transfer students in the STEM and education disciplines. It is available to low – and middle – income North Carolina residents who earn an Associates degree from a NC community college and is valued at $20,000 for up to three years. A comprehensive professional development program allows students to grow into tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
University-Level Distinctive Scholarships for Current Students
Caldwell Fellows – The Caldwell Fellows program invests in students selected during their first year at NC State who share a passion to learn, grow and serve others. The Caldwell program provides extensive programming and leadership training, as well as fosters collaborative interaction with alumni, faculty and community partners. Students apply during their first year at NC State.
College of Engineering Scholarships
Through the generosity of donors, a number of scholarships are available to undergraduate students (rising freshmen, transfer students, and current students) in the College of Engineering. To be considered for these opportunities, all students must complete the scholarship application in Pack ASSIST annually for university-based scholarships and financial aid. To apply visit go.ncsu.edu/packassist. New students can apply upon acceptance. Applications received by February 15 will receive priority consideration.

University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid also offers scholarship opportunities to enrolled students. New students can apply upon admission.
