Engineer Your Experience: Upcoming Programs & Deadlines

Stay up to date on opportunities supported by the Engineer Your Experience (EYE) Program. These programs are open to NC State undergraduate engineering students who have paid the College of Engineering enhancement fee.

Fall 2025 Opportunities

1. Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) Program

Cost: $100 per student – covered by the EYE Program
Offered by: NC State’s Global Training Initiative

Build skills in cultural awareness and cross-cultural communication through this interactive co-curricular program. You’ll connect with NC State students and international peers, gaining a credential that stands out on your resume.

Schedule (4 sessions, complete before Fall Break):

  • Wednesdays: Sept. 17, 24, Oct. 1, 8
      • 9:00–10:30 AM EDT
      • 4:00–5:30 PM EDT
      • 8:00–9:30 PM EDT
  • Thursdays: Sept. 18, 25, Oct. 2, 9
      • 8:30–10:00 AM EDT

2. Study Abroad Scholarships (Winter Break & Spring 2025)

Deadline: Sept. 15, 2025

To be considered for any Study Abroad or EYE funding, you must complete the NC State Study Abroad Scholarship Application.

Important Notes

  • Completing the application does not commit you to a program.
  • Without it, you are not eligible for scholarships or EYE Program funding.
  • Work with the Study Abroad Office for advising and program-specific questions.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete the Study Abroad Scholarship Application by Sept 15.
  2. Explore available programs on the Study Abroad Website.

3. LEED Green Associate Certification (Fall 2025)

Credential: LEED Green Associate (GA) — awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council

Why it matters: Demonstrates your commitment to sustainability and knowledge of green building practices.

Training Options (all identical)

  • Sept. 6, 2025 | 1:00–5:30 PM EDT
  • Oct. 4, 2025 | 1:00–5:30 PM EDT
  • Nov. 15, 2025 | 1:00–5:30 PM EST
  • Dec. 20, 2025 | 1:00–5:30 PM EST
  • On-demand: complete anytime at your own pace
