Celebrating donor generosity that has shaped and enhanced the experiences of students and faculty in the College of Engineering.

The Foundation recognizes donors to highlight for our students and faculty the generosity that has shaped and enhanced their experiences in the College of Engineering. We understand that donors give to support a cause or an institution they believe in and that recognition is not the primary goal. But we also believe that recognition can spur broader participation. In addition to recognizing our donors on the website, the Foundation also organizes special events for donors throughout the year.

Transformational Investment in Biomedical Engineering Deepens Lampe Family Legacy

The contribution by Ross W. Lampe Jr. names the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill. Originally established in 2003, this unique inter-institutional collaboration to advance human health today unites the College of Engineering at NC State with the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill.

The new endowment creates the third named department at NC State and represents the second-largest private investment in its College of Engineering’s history.

CCEE Alumnus Establishes First Named Department Head in College

Lawrence (Larry) Twisdale, Jr. ‘69, ‘70 and his wife Fran made gifts totaling $4 million this year to establish the first named department head position in the College of Engineering, as well as a second named Twisdale professorship in CCEE.
