About Us
In support of NC State’s land grant mission, the Havelock Engineering Program serves our community with a local, caring, and transformative experience that creates career ready engineers. We seek to deliberately create opportunities for students to develop, as a member of a close-knit community of learners, technical competence, teamwork, ownership, accountability, self-reflection, systems thinking, design thinking and the drive to accomplish open-ended objectives through individualized mentorship, experiential learning, and teaching.
Facilities
On the Craven Community College campus, the Havelock Engineering Program has dedicated classrooms for courses, labs, and collaborative student work. The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for students to explore all aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering, including a fully equipped Maker Space. Students use this equipment in lab courses but are also encouraged to design and carry out their own experiments and can access the equipment outside of class if desired.
