@ncstateccee sophomore Julia Kalinina is a Project Operations Intern at PLW Waterworks this summer.
“The wastewater treatment plant I am working on will enable local industrial companies to discharge their wastewater and allow them to get pH neutralization, temperate control, dechlorination and flow equalization.”
@ncstateccee junior Caleb Mattocks spends his summer days with Townes Site Engineering doing civil engineering land development.
“Most of my office work is doing site design in AutoCAD. In the pictures, the drill rig was from my work with the geotechnical division doing subsurface exploration for a proposed building footprint. This is to see if the soil is suitable for construction. With geotech I also did subgrade inspections where we tested the layers of fill that was being compacted for the grading. With that process we test every foot or so of fill to make sure the density is at a certain level so that settlement is decreased and the final grade is compact and stable."
