College of Engineering Teaching Professors Community
The Teaching Professors Community is a faculty-led group within the College of Engineering committed to supporting teaching-track faculty. We gather a couple times each semester to discuss our teaching and advising efforts as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning. This community offers space for connection, encouragement, and professional growth tailored to the teaching-track experience.
Focus Areas
- Instructional Excellence: Enhancing classroom practices, engaging students, and improving learning outcomes
- Professional Development: Supporting career advancement and promotion within the teaching professor track
- Educational Research: Collaborating on engineering education scholarship and proposal development
- Peer Support & Recognition: Building relationships and visibility for teaching-track faculty across departments
Goals of the Community
- Facilitate networking to identify collaborators and mentors
- Share information about promotion and career advancement
- Increase awareness and visibility of the teaching professor role within the college
- Foster encouragement and support among faculty committed to high-quality teaching and advising
