Thomas Greenhalgh’s life and legacy have been celebrated through a scholarship in his name to honor his passion for NC State University, engineering, and family. It was established to support future MSE, continuing his legacy even after his tragic passing at 30 years old in 2019.

Maintaining a Generous Connection

Engineering Faculty Senior Scholarship supports a stellar senior annually

The merit-based scholarship is supported by donations. Each engineering department nominates one outstanding senior. A committee of faculty members then selects a recipient following a half-day of interviews with the nominees.

Computer science alumnus Drew Banks is giving back in a big way

Banks, who graduated from NC State University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, donates each year to the College of Engineering. Education is a priority for him and his husband, Nick Rubashkin, and both of them have put a lot of thought into how to implement that in their giving.
