BME’s Franz awarded $2.7M NIH grant to enhance foot and ankle function in older adults

Jason Franz, Associate Professor in Joint BME, has received a 5-year, $2.7M R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health titled “A framework for feasible translation to enhance foot and ankle function in aging and mobility”.

The power of mass spectrometry imaging

This 4-year $2.2 million NIH grant was recently awarded to support a collaborative effort initiated by the College of Sciences, College of Engineering, and METRIC at NC State and the College of Engineering at Duke University.

Department of Energy grants will power clean energy research at NC State

Faculty members in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University will receive funding from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to create a new electric microgrid coordination and control design and to develop cleaner, cheaper processes for industrial production of benzenes.

BME MS MedTech program awarded $27,000 grant funded by VentureWell

The grant funds are to be used for “Development of a new course and URM recruitment initiatives to support medical device innovation and entrepreneurship” under the supervision of BME Associate Professor and Founding Director of the MS MedTech program David Zaharoff, together with the Associate Director of MS MedTech Matt R. Penny, as well as Assistant Professor Kennita Johnson, who is also Director of Equity and Diversity for the BME department.
