Whitehornes establish entrepreneurship scholarship in Computer Science

This endowment will provide scholarships for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science who are affiliated with the CSC Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Track.

NC State becomes part of KEEN to improve entrepreneurial thinking in engineering

This fall, NC State University joined the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN), which brings together engineering faculty and staff members who aim to prepare students to graduate with entrepreneurial mindsets. As a land-grant university with a philosophy of Think and Do, NC State’s goals to prepare students to succeed in their chosen industries and create value in the world align well with KEEN’s mission.

There are important moments in our lives that require a little courage to take that leap of faith. At least, that is how Natalie Barbu, industrial and systems engineering ’18; Nick Kane, electrical and computer engineering ’20; and Connor Boyce, electrical engineering ’20, felt when they first launched their brand-new business, Rella, in app stores.

Global Alumni Spotlight: From student to founder

Tayseer Almatter, class of 2012, began his career at NC State University to complete his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. Little did he know that his experiences would lead him to build TforDesign, a design innovation brand. Both inside and outside the classroom, Tayseer says he was allowed the opportunity to “re-discover” himself.
