Unlikely entrepreneur and professor takes her technology to the marketplace

Afsaneh Rabiei never imagined she would be an entrepreneur, but that was before Rabiei, who is a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at NC State, invented a technology in NC State labs called composite metal foam (CMF).

Energy-X awarded $1.4 million DOE grant for next-gen heat pumps

Under this grant, the Energy-X lab will closely work with its industry partner and ORNL to develop a novel variable-capacity evaporator technology for improving heat pump performance, saving energy and reducing payback time.

GCSP fundraiser aims to raise funds for incoming students

Currently, GCSP is raising funds to support five incoming and transfer undergraduate engineering students. The funds will cover costs for them to participate in the GCSP Undergraduate Research Experience, where they will focus on one of the four pillars of the program. They aim to raise $5,000 to enable this opportunity for five students.
