Ducoste named associate dean in permanent role

Joel Ducoste, professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been named as the associate dean for faculty advancement in NC State’s College of Engineering.

CCEE faculty, students attend 2022 Macro-Energy Systems Workshop

CCEE associate professor Dr. Jeremiah Johnson and three CCEE students traveled to California to participate in the 2022 Macro-Energy Systems Workshop at Stanford University on June 20-21. Macro-Energy Systems is an emergent field and research community that focuses on large-scale, systems-level, long-term aspects of energy systems and their implications for  the environment, economy, and human wellbeing.

CCEE’s Ducoste tapped as COE associate dean for faculty advancement

CCEE professor Dr. Joel Ducoste has been named NC State College of Engineering associate dean for faculty advancement, effective July 1. Ducoste has served as interim associate dean for faculty advancement for the past two years.

NC State researchers recognized for work on PFAS pollution

Detlef Knappe’s work discovering and tracing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds in the Cape Fear River basin in eastern North Carolina was recognized by a grateful city council in Wilmington, NC, earlier this month.

Cabas Mijares receives NSF CAREER Award

Ashly Cabas Mijares, assistant professor in NC State’s Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, has received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The award is one of the highest honors given by NSF to young faculty members in science and engineering.

NSF RAPID grants support engineering research on pandemic for better future solutions

Faculty members in the College of Engineering are principal investigators (PIs) or co-PIs on three Rapid Response Research (RAPID) grants awarded in 2020 by the National Science Foundation (NSF) focused on hospital surges, vaccine distribution and the well-being of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
