Chemical engineering students, student chapter receive national AIChE awards

Nine chemical and biomolecular engineering undergraduates at North Carolina State University received national awards at the 2011 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) annual meeting. And for the 14th time in 16 years, NC State’s student chapter won Outstanding Student Chapter Award from AIChE.

Dr. Richard J. Spontak, alumni distinguished professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering and materials science and engineering at North Carolina State University, has been awarded the Colwyn Medal from the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining for his seminal research involving thermoplastic elastomer systems.
