Engineering Alumnus Daryl Caudle Confirmed as Chief of Naval Operations

Adm. Daryl Caudle ‘85 was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 31 to serve as the next Chief of Naval Operations to the United States. Caudle, who has a degree in chemical engineering from NC State University, was nominated by President Donald Trump to the role on June 18.

First Father and Son Pair Receive ASM Gold Medal

The American Society for Metals (ASM) has awarded the 2026 International Gold Medal to Roger Narayan, Distinguished Professor in the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
