Dr. Alper Bozkurt, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at North Carolina State University, has received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for his research proposal, “Bio-electro-photonic Microsystem Interfaces for Small Animals.”

Grant receives AIChE Pioneers of Diversity Award

Dr. Christine S. Grant, Associate Dean of Faculty Advancement for the College of Engineering and professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University, is one of the first recipients of the new American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Pioneers of Diversity Award for her distinguished service to the organization.

Baliga wins global energy prize

Electrical engineer Jay Baliga, lauded by Scientific American as one of the heroes of the semiconductor revolution, has scored another scientific honor. The professor says he was awakened at 4:30 in the morning on April 23 with news from Moscow that he is a 2015 winner of the Global Energy Prize, an annual award presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June.
