University, College continue to improve in U.S. News undergraduate rankings

In the 2024 ratings released this week, NC State moved up on the main Best National Universities list, ranking 60th in the nation, an increase of 12 spots over 2022. Among public institutions, the university remains in the top 30 nationally, moving up one place to 28th.

CCEE alum, advisory board member named NC Department of Transportation Secretary

CCEE alum and advisory board member Joey Hopkins (BSCE Construction Option 1989) was tapped as the new North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Secretary by N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper. Hopkins succeeds Eric Boyette, who is retiring from state government after 27 years of service. Hopkins currently serves as NCDOT Chief Operating Officer and will begin his new appointment October 1.
