Aerospace engineering students at North Carolina State University team up with pilots and flight instructors to show off another way humans defy gravity — soaring. Up to six modern gliders, which are also called sailplanes because they can fly more than 100 miles without an engine, will be on display on NC State’s Centennial Campus.

The plant was damaged during the March 11 earthquake and subsequent tsunami resulting in nuclear fuel damage and the release of radioactive material. Media coverage is invited.
