BTEC career fair sets new attendance record
More than 440 students and others attended BTEC’s fall career fair, surpassing all previous attendance records for the semi-annual event. Held Oct. 4 at the Hunt Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus, the fair enabled attendees to meet with representatives from 30 biomanufacturing-related companies from the Research Triangle area. Participating firms included AstraZeneca, Biogen, bioMerieux, KBI Biopharma, Eli Lilly and Company, Merck & Company, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer among others.
Of the 360 NC State students who attended the event, 208 (58%) have majors in the College of Engineering and 105 are enrolled in one of BTEC’s academic programs. A total of 62 different academic programs were represented by the NC State students attending; that diversity reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the field.
The career fair, which is open to the public, also welcomed students from other institutions, including Duke University, East Carolina University, Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Carolina at Charlotte, and Wake Technical Community College.
BTEC’s career fairs are co-sponsored by the university’s Career Development Center. The spring 2025 event is scheduled for Feb. 26. For more information and employer registration to attend, see this overview (opens in a new window).
