CBE professors receive teaching and learning award
Two NC State chemical and biomolecular engineering professors are members of a team that received the 2013 Maryellen Weimer Scholarly Work on Teaching and Learning Award. The award is sponsored by Magna Publications, a higher education publisher and professional development company.
The award for Dr. Lisa Bullard, teaching professor and director of undergraduate studies, and Dr. Richard Felder, Hoechst Celanese Professor Emeritus, and other team members includes a $1,000 stipend and recognizes “outstanding scholarly contributions with the potential to advance college-level teaching and learning practices.”
The team’s entry paper, “The Comprehensive Assessment of Team Member Effectiveness: Development of a Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale for Self and Peer Evaluation,” was published in the journal Academy of Management Learning & Education in December 2012. The paper was selected from a pool of over 100 entrants and is a product of the authors’ Comprehensive Assessment of Team Member Effectiveness (CATME) collaboration.
The Weimer Award was presented to Bullard, Felder and the other co-authors at the Teaching Professor Conference in New Orleans on June 1.
