Exxon Mobil Corporation awards $38,000 in grants to the College of Engineering
Exxon Mobil Corporation has awarded a total of $38,000 in grants to support the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University.
Representatives from ExxonMobil presented a check for $7,000 to Angelitha Daniel, interim director of Minority Engineering Programs at NC State, on Sept. 27, and a check for $31,000 to Dr. Richard Keltie, associate dean of research and graduate programs in the College of Engineering, on Oct. 1.
The unrestricted grants will support various educational activities, including scholarships, field trips, visiting speakers, equipment purchases, student and faculty travel to academic-related activities, and other educational projects. The funds will also be used to support recruiting and retention initiatives for underrepresented minority engineering students, such as Student Advancement and Retention Teams and the Summer Transition Program.
