College places in top 35 on US News undergraduate rankings
The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University continues to hold its position amongst the best colleges of engineering in the country.
Released this week, the US News & World Report rankings of undergraduate engineering programs placed the College 34th nationally and 19th among public institutions. NC State tied at 34th with the University of California located in Santa Barbara.
Many of the College’s academic departments were among the top programs as well. The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, a department located in NC State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and affiliated with the College of Engineering, ranked sixth. Additionally, the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering ranked in the top 15.
US News & World Report compiles its annual rankings of accredited U.S. engineering programs
by surveying engineering deans and senior faculty members. The annual report is one of the most widely distributed rankings of U.S. colleges and universities.
