Dr. Louis Martin-Vega, dean of the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, discussed the College’s role as a top engineering research-and-education institution and how NC State is helping to solve the world’s toughest problems in an hour-long radio interview on March 16.

Martin-Vega, the dean of engineering at NC State since 2006, spoke about the College’s leadership role in the state’s economy and how NC State engineering faculty, students and staff are addressing the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Challenges for the 21st century. Examples include making solar energy affordable, engineering better medicines and making clean water available to everyone.

The interview was with Radio in Vivo, a science program broadcast weekly on WCOM-FM 103.5, based in Carrboro, NC, and streamed on the web. The show is hosted by Ernie Hood, a longtime Triangle freelance writer, editor and producer.
