On May 2, Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) faculty held a graduation ceremony for 83 students, bringing the total of BTEC alumni to 1,071.

“Reaching over 1,000 graduates is an incredible milestone for BTEC,” said Gary Gilleskie, BTEC’s executive director. “It reflects our commitment to developing skilled biomanufacturing professionals, with nearly all our graduates launching careers in this vital industry.”

Over 80% of graduates from BTEC remain in North Carolina, fueling the state’s booming biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector. BTEC, which provides educational and training opportunities for students studying biomanufacturing, also offers bioprocess development and analytical services to customers from both academia and industry.
