The 6 C\u2019s complement the delivery of engineering skills and technical knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This pedagogy emphasizes discovery, opportunity identification, and value creation and builds on active learning and problem-based learning techniques, adding the \u201cWhy should I care?\u201d by explicitly connecting classroom content to the real world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Three reasons to teach with the 6 C\u2019s:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase student motivation\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adds purpose and direction; allows students to integrate topics into their lives; decreases anxiety by providing multiple ways to demonstrate learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase instructor satisfaction\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shows students coming alive as they search for pressing problems; invigorates lectures and office hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase student learning and retention\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Builds on active learning and problem-based learning techniques which are known to improve learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why should you join the WEU network?
