Shining Stars

The Shining Star Award is presented to the student who consistently supports the programs hosted by the WMEP office. This student willingly and sincerely gives their time and energy to support the mission and goals of WMEP. We can count on this student to help out whenever called upon.

Building Bridges

The Building Bridges Award is presented to the student whose community service both on and off campus supports the mission of WMEP and makes the spaces they operate in more welcoming and inclusive.

Champion of Diversity & Inclusion

The Champion of Diversity & Inclusion Award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has demonstrated a significant contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion through positive interactions with students, staff, and faculty, and who respects and values differing backgrounds and
points of view.

Most Supportive Faculty/Staff

The Most Supportive Faculty/Staff Award recognizes an inspirational faculty/staff member that, through their actions and contributions, they help recruit, develop, and uplift women and under-represented students to excel academically and professionally.

Donor of the Year

This award honors an individual/company who supports the mission of the Women & Minority Engineering Program. Their contribution empowers WMEP in focusing on ensuring a diverse student body by providing community building and engagement, academic support, and professional development through several activities to ensure an inclusive environment for students.

Community Partners of the Year

The Community Partner of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have made significant efforts to provide professional insight and advice to help develop the next generation of diverse engineering leaders. They have volunteered their time, effort, and/or resources to support WMEP in promoting professional development and career advancement opportunities within the engineering profession to help our students succeed beyond their time at NC State.
